When Ashton was diagnosed as suffering from Cerebral Palsy after Step B Meningitis as a baby we decided to look for legal advice to secure Ashton's future.

We were extremely lucky and were pointed in the direction of a solicitors where we were introduced to Richard. He became the solicitor who would help us bring Ashton's claim to court.

The process took a long time but we were always aware of what was happening and during all the assessments Richard was there to answer any questions we had.

It wasn't, the most pleasant of experiences and often we felt scrutinized by professionals. Its fair to say Richard was always on the end of the phone and became a little like a councelor, helping us to see clearly on many occasions. He was fantastic and we miss him now its all over, even now I would never hesitate to give him a call if we needed any advice.

Richard was understanding of us and treated us with compassion and empathy at an awfully difficult time in all of our lives. We think of him as a friend of the family and I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone looking to make a clinical negligence claim, even if only for advice.

Ashton won his case and we were able to finally find a bungalow that would suit his long term needs which was wonderful. 18 months on and we have a beautiful house adapted for Ashton. We can enjoy normal things like sitting down to a meal as a family, We've actually got the space for a wheelchair in the house and we don't keep falling over it!

Ashton has a pool so while he has his hydro sessions his sisters can join him in the pool and we can have fun as a family. We have created a sensory room for Ashton to chill in, and us too! and we recently found someone to come in and give Ashton a hand with his physio and personal care which leaves more time for us to be his Mum and Dad and also gives us more time with his sisters. We even get one night a week where Ashton's carer stays over which means we can get a much needed nights sleep!!

Ashton can finally get some communication aids and the next step for us is to help him communicate in which ever way he can and now he has some money to pay for equipment the pressure is taken off of us to find all the extra money to buy him the things he needs and deserves and so we can concentrate on being a family.
